Growing up on a ranch in Oklahoma, I spent my childhood days on horseback following my imagination through our land. My imagination continued as I grew and I jotted down poems and story ideas here and there. As I entered college, my literature professors would all urge me to shift my major toward writing, but alas, I continued on getting my BS in Psychology and following that with many years in the corporate world and leadership.

Fast forward a good chunk of years and I found myself awaiting the arrival of my precious bundle of joy. I "retired" from corporate life to soak up the tiny time of my little girl who had a hard time falling asleep. She was followed by a little boy who had a hard time being away from mama. Raising my kiddos rekindled the memories of my childhood imagination and fanned embers that had gone dry. I began telling my kiddos little tales in an effort to lure them to their slumber so that I might have a few moments to be myself at the end of the long long days of mamahood. I have recently been inspired to turn these stories into mementos for my kiddos while hopefully sharing them with others who might enjoy them.

I come from a long line of artists and have spent many years telling myself that I wasn't one because I hadn't their natural knack for what looked like perfection. In my wise adulthood years I now recall how many hours my own mama spent drawing every day along with all of the portfolio pieces she created while she was obtaining her Art degree. She worked hard at her craft. I am just now realizing that I might have a spark of creativity in me and am trying to hone my own craft much as she did.
