Introduction
I created plush fabric bananas from vintage yellow fabric. I enjoy creating characterized versions of real food items and giving a face to an every day object. The more realistic the better, so I used fabric ink to add some green and brown highlights to the yellow fabric that mimic the markings on real bananas

Supplies
I used yellow fabric for the banana body and fabric ink to paint on the details such as green and brown spots. The top and bottom of the banana are created with brown felt and the face is made using safety eyes and black embroidery floss.
Step 1: pattern creation
I studied the shape of bananas and created a pattern made with three parts to give the plush banana it's form. I sewed these three pieces together with a sewing machine and stuffed the form to create the shape of the banana

Step 2: Details
To give the banana a realistic look, I created a small sticker to mimic the types of labels you would see in the store. For this, I created a logo digitally in Procreate, and printed it with coloured ink onto an iron-on transfer paper appropriate for fabrics. Once these labels were printed, I followed the instructions with the iron-on sheet and attached them to the banana shape with an iron.
I added the face to the banana using safety eyes and embroidery floss. Small details such as the eyebrows and teeth were added with white thread.
Then for final details, I used green and brown fabric ink to paint on the banana details and colouration.
