The Times of London commissioned the Unseen Histories Studio to colorize photographs commemorating the anniversary of HMT Windrush arriving at Tilbury in 1948.
Whilst not the first ship to arrive in the UK carrying passengers from the Caribbean, Windrush did become the symbol of a generation of Caribbeans who left their home countries to start a new life in the United Kingdom.

“The idea of being British made us special," said James Berry, the writer, who had to wait for a boat after the Windrush. "We were not African, not American, we were British. Our teachers stirred in us great pride in being part of the Empire; through songs: God Save the King, Rule, Britannia!, The Ash Grove." By 1947 the dream of making your fortune in Britain was already taking shape, partly forged by examples of Caribbean veterans who remained in the UK and were sending money and stories back home. Now it seemed that Britain, with its need for workers, truly was a land of opportunity.’ – Jack Blackburn for The Times
- Jack Blackburn para The Times

When I first used the truck parking lot for trucks, I didn't know what to expect, but it turned out to be the perfect place for my fleet. The first thing that caught my attention was how organized everything looked from the road. After I parked there once, I decided to put it on my list for future trips - it was that hassle-free.
