My Rock&Roll Soap

For my final projet, I wanted to create a Rock &Roll soap.
I started by sketching it on paper.

In a second time I created it on Canvas. I found that it help to plan the soap as different block and mathematically calculate the portion of soap of each parts.

The most difficult was to get a perfect guitar shape on the whole loaf of soap. I used a long silicon mold guitar shaped. In the first attempts I put to much soap in the mold so the guitar was too big on the lower extremity of the mold. I solved it by finding the exact amount of soap needed for the mold not to extend and letting it set horizontally.

I made different attempts of colour : Activated charcoal, red oxyde. For a more natural option I would use Urucum or madder roots. The base of the soap is white : Olive oil, Coconut Shea butter and Sweet almond oil.

The layers were poured in three different layers with the loaf mold in a side way position.

The star of Affinity symbol of the Red hot chili peppers was curved with a trailer made wooden stamp.

For the smell, I wanted a fresh perfume with a pinch of spice. So I ended adding Eucalyptus, Peppermint, Curcuma, Vetiver, and Clove essential oils.
