When I started learning this course I've already decorated my apartment so I don't have "before" photos, but I did move my plants around a bit after watching the course. In the picture is my living room. I don't have a lot of bright light (only during summertime) so most of my plants can survive in medium-light situation. However, during spring & summer I put the majority of them outside on my terrace because the terrace is north-facing so there is not a lot of sun and it doesn't burn the plants and they do better outside than inside.
I used botanical patterns on my armchairs and on the cushions on the sofa. The little bed on the sofa is for my cats who enjoy the central position in the room. They are not interested in the plants and do not nibble them so I don't have to be too careful when it comes to the toxicity of the plants.
In the darkest parts of the room I put plants that can survive low-light conditions such as: ZZ plant, snake plants, photos, scindapsus etc.
For pots I use a lot of baskets and I tried to match the colors to the living room (green, yellow, grey, beige...). The look I was going for was "urban jungle" however, my friends just call it a "jungle".
