Mazurka

I've never been able to dance, I lack a sense of rhythm, but seeing people dancing always gives me beautiful images, which I then try to translate on paper: dance is for me an inexhaustible source of inspiration and a generator of ideas and insights.
This illustration comes from a shot found online that portrays a couple at the end of the dance during a bal folk festival. The mazurka is a dance of Polish origins that has spread throughout Europe, changing according to the places where it took root. The "Mazurka Klandestina" meetings have taken hold in Italy for some years: a poetic action whose meaning lies in temporariness and clandestinity: nightly dance meetings without asking for administrative permits, leaving the spaces untouched after their use.

For years it has already been done for the tango; the novelty lies in the type of dances that are danced during these events: in addition to the French mazurka, in fact, the so-called neo-trad dances are danced. These are traditional dances from various regions of France such as bourrèe or dances from different European countries such as chapelloise, polkas and waltzes.
