My project for course: Concept Art: Character Design & Worldbuilding

The world:
the world in which my character lives is a monod in which various different factions live, there are elves, witches, merchant magicians but also hermits, the antagonists. in our planisphere we find 4 islands 2 very large and 2 smaller, the vcontinent that interests us, where our character is, is the fourth, the smallest one whose name takes inspiration from its turtle shape, Turlign. this island is full of mountains (where wizards and witches live) and forests (where only merchants live). the island is surrounded by the sea and despite the moments of wars and crises it is still inhabited.
the climate is generally optimal for fishing and agriculture, the forests are large and there is no risk of deforestation the only flaw of the place is that due to its geographical position it is always at risk of marine attacks

The setting:
The story is set in the late 1400s. Due to the clan of hermits the rest of the world has had to fight endless wars losing most of the historical beauties of 97% of the planet the only 3% that has managed to escape is in Sydniac who despite the high risk of war but due to the very low number of warriors existing on the territory, it has managed to preserve part of the cultural heritage of Zimbrog. The most important battle of Sydniac that we remember is that between the magical and merchant faction that after 60 years of war managed to establish a peace treaty that unified the kingdom making the peninsula peaceful and anti-war.
Only in 1489 the hermits and the rest of the peoples are able to reach peace even if this does not change the hostile relationship that runs in the blood of the tribes.

The character:
Knilood is the son of a former soldier and current noble merchant of Sydniac whose aim is to be able to form a closer relationship between the hermits and the rest of the populations because he believed that the evil done by the hermits had a valid reason to be unleashed and therefore to reconcile the peoples he, Knilood, wanted to know them.
