My project for course: Modern Urban Sketching Techniques with Mixed Media

Here is my final project. I had primed my page with yellow and greenish-mint, and it went very well with the atmosphere of landscape I walked past.

What I liked about the course and this drawing, is playing with mixed media. I was so used to only using watercolors for urban sketching, so it was very liberating to use other materials. I love combining different textures and materials! I also really loved working with a limited color palette, it's so freeing and I really love learning about how colors work together. Less is definitely more!

However, I really feel I haven't found my artistic voice yet in this new style. I am not really happy with my final drawing, but it's ok, it's a process and I see it as the start of a journey. Now it's time to play and discover my urban sketching voice with mixed media. Trial and error, it's the way forward!
