Loana Hernandez

I am a Venezuelan-born visual artist, graphic designer, illustrator, and textile artist currently based in Katy, Texas. With over 20 years of experience in the creative industries, my work has gradually evolved from commercial design into art education and material exploration. Through my Joutai Project, soon launching as a pilot program in Wallis, Texas, I am developing a nature-based art atelier where participants learn to create using natural pigments, recycled paper, ceramics, and observation practices. Joutai brings together my background in fine arts, illustration, and craft traditions with a teaching approach centered on slow creation, attentive observation, and connection to the land.
