Lisa Firke

My last name rhymes with “quirky,” which describes me well and amuses me to tell people.

I love reading, writing and making things (up), and as the mother of grown children and the spouse of a retired boarding school teacher I am blessed with time and space to work. I’m inspired by nature, folk and fairy tales, children’s book illustration, the nineteenth century Arts & Crafts movement and mid-twentieth century modern aesthetics. My father was an architect and I now get to live in the modern house he designed and built by hand as I was growing up.
