We do this by disrupting the traditional residential real estate market by providing furnished and serviced apartments for stays of one month or more. We remove all the hassle around finding a rental with no long-term contracts, moving/buying furniture, security deposits, broker fees, etc. giving choice and flexibility to allow people to live where and when they want.

Ukio was founded in 2020 by two brothers with deep experience in hospitality and technology, and backed by top European Venture Capitalists. We are based in Barcelona and we are looking to expand across Europe soon.

Your Role
We are seeking a Design Manager to join our team in Barcelona. The Design Manager will bring the Ukio brand to life for all of our guests. As a Design Manager your responsibilities will be to ensure that each Ukio apartment meets our required design quality and standards. You will be responsible for the entire design process and renovations of each apartment. This includes creation of floorplan, vendor management, and final implementation. We are a new start-up, so you’ll be given a high degree of autonomy and expected to deal with numerous challenges and opportunities along the way.

Your key responsibilities will include:
Design moodboard and floorplans within budget for each Ukio project
Manage and build vendor relationships
Source items and furniture from various local and international suppliers
Manage design budgets and timelines for each apartment. Our timelines are very tight so we need someone to be able to work under pressure.
Oversee furniture implementation during onboarding
Work cross functionally with supply chain and facilities team for efficient onboarding process
Manage and oversee photo shoots of all properties
Help update Ukio’s design guidelines and standards

Your Qualifications
You have 5+ years of interior design experience in hospitality or residential services
Deep organizational skills to maintain timelines and budgets
Fluent in Spanish & English
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with short turnaround in a fast paced environment
Proficiency in leading Design Software tools (e.g. Autocad, Photoshop, etc.)
Comfortable working in cross-functional teams
Experience in early or mid-stage startups a plus
