Jayant Khanuja graduated from the faculty of design, CEPT University, India; where he developed a keen interest into understanding how computers/digital media can be used as a major design tool. Furthering his interests he did a thesis as a research on the topic of Voronoi Geometry to understand how algorithms can be used as a design tool in contemporary scenarios. After his graduation he started working with an AA School of Architecture alumni in India and started teaching as a computational design tutor in CEPT University along with taking design workshops on computational design tools where he explored more about generative processes and parametric approaches towards design.
While two years of working and teaching in India, he co-founded Algo Design studio which focuses on domains of interaction design and interior architecture, with a customized design process based on project requirements. Later he pursued his Masters in Advanced Interaction from IAAC, Barcelona, Spain. After finishing his masters, he worked with different firms in India, Dubai and the UK as a computational design consultant and worked on projects of various scales such as furniture design, installation design and interactive façade systems. Along with working on projects, he participated and won a prestigious design competition of urban scale in a team with a Dubai-based architecture firm.
Currently, he works as a design intern at IAAC in the computational design department working on projects involving computational design and additive manufacturing as well as consulting with design firms in India and the UK as a computational design expert.
