David Torres

I am an artist originally from Colombia. I grew up with the world of porcelain craftsmanship all around me in my parents' Porcelain manufactory, which sparked my love for classical porcelain and it's historical significance. I studied art and taught ceramics to autistic children and directed art projects where ceramics and learning by doing were the pillar of the process. Inspired by my experiences, I decided to create my own line of porcelain jewelry and product designs.

In search of expanding my knowledge and honing my skills, I pursued a master's degree in ceramics in Germany. During my time there, I had the opportunity to showcase my work in different galleries and museums, further solidifying my expertise in traditional porcelain-making techniques, with a particular focus on modeling and casting.

My talent has been recognized and awarded, including a third-place prize in the Richard Bampi competition. Thanks to this I had the opportunity to participate in an artist residency at the renowned Meissen Porcelain Factory where I explored the captivating relationship between porcelain and cocaine in Colombia during the 1990s. I am currently a Product Designer and Marketing for the Meissen Porcelain Factory.
