I've been a fan of Jane's since I saw her painting on Portrait Artist of the Year. She is very thorough, and I really enjoyed being able to follow the course on my own pace. Good to see she had us work on value scales first in monochrome and then work with colour and images. Great course! I'd recommend it to anyone interested in exposing yourself to portraiture.

I have admired Jane's portraits for some time and now have discovered that she is also an excellent teacher.

This course provided easy to follow instructions. The learning is easy to apply to your own portrait painting.

Wow!!! Impressive. Excellent course. I learned a lot. This would be my first time using oil painting because I am switching from pastel to oil and a course like this was what I was looking for. Thank you very much Jane!

Excellent course. Jane, herself being an accomplished artist, still shows so much patient in guiding student step by step to achieve as much as possible. I also love her voice and tone, which calm me down instead of pressure me up like some other teachers in school. I did my first project after attending her class, and I feel so contented.

Great Course

Amazing course! Jane is great at explaining her painting process. I was a little sceptical thinking that this course is too short for one to learn how to paint portraits, it will for sure take a lot of practice, but Jane explained everything so well. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is interested in painting portraits.

I would like to express here my satisfaction with all the tips that Jane gave me through this course. Your way of teaching with patience and love makes me want to paint even more. Even if I only do digital art at the moment, I feel more inclined to do traditional art after attending this course.

I really enjoyed Jane’s approach to oil painting and portraiture. Clear instructions in a simple uncomplicated way. I feel that I can incorporate her style into my painting.

I am loving this course! Jane French is an amazing instructor and I am learning a lot. I love how I can go back and replay sections any time I want. I expect my skills will improve dramatically as I practice these techniques.

I learned so much from this course, in the past it's been taking me more than 25h to complete the portrait, after this course I have my painting almost ready in 6h! I still have a lot to learn but with the foundation I got from this course I am sure I'll get better very fast!

I genuinely can't recommend this course enough. Jane's an accomplished artist and has a lovely manner, straightforward and easy to understand. This course is useful if you already have some ability and are keen to learn more or equally useful if you've always been keen to give painting a try but didn't know where to start. Domestika has provided a great course (I will be exploring others) and a solid platform on which to learn and share.
