Chris Auret

I have been drawing and painting all my life - working in charcoal watercolour and more recently in oil. Three years ago I retired from my manufacturing business and spent two years travelling around Australia painting landscapes in watercolour and oils. During the past year COVID restrictions have limited me to my studio. Sketches and paintings from my travels provided me with reference material for some large landscape canvases but also reference for portraits of birds and people. My art is largely self taught apart from watercolour workshops . My work to date has centered around impressionistic realism. You can view my art on Instagram at chrisauretstudio.
I am looking forward to taking my work into abstract realism in the abstract painting course.
