I am a professor at the Monterrey Institute of Technology, Puebla Campus, and an independent consultant in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Data Analytics. I hold a degree in Computer Systems Engineering from UDLAP (1989) and earned my master’s and doctoral degrees in Computer Science from the Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble, France (1991, 1994). I also completed postdoctoral research at the Robotics Laboratory of Simon Fraser University in Canada.
I have served as a National Researcher (Level I, CONACYT), a professor at UDLAP, and a researcher at INRIA Rhône-Alpes (France), contributing to several European projects. I co-founded Probayes France and Probayes Americas (Mexico), where I held roles as Director of Research and General Director. Additionally, I’ve held leadership positions at T-Systems Mexico, Promagnus, and Softtek.
My work focuses on Bayesian programming, stochastic systems, and optimization, with applications in risk analysis, IoT, smart cities, medical technologies, computer vision, and robotics. I’ve co-authored numerous academic articles and the book Bayesian Programming (CRC Press). I am also a founding member of the Mexican Academy of Computing and a member of the OECD’s AI Expert Group.
