Canva'yı ve Domestika'nın (feng shui kursundan) dijital bir görüntüsünü odak noktası olarak kullandım.

Şu anda devam eden Domestika (Feng Shui) kursumda, yakın zamanda Sarı Ejderha'nın bir resmine rastladım. Çin mitolojisinde sarı ejderha, tüm mitolojik canavarlar arasında en önemli ve güçlü varlıktır. Sarı ejderha merkez hariç, diğer dört göksel canavar bir ana yönü sembolize eder. Aşağıda diğer 4 göksel canavar yer almaktadır.

• Kızılkuş (Zhuque): Güney
• Beyaz Kaplan (Baihu): Batı
• Siyah Kaplumbağa (Xuanwu): Kuzey

Sarı Ejderha (Huanglong) öncelikle imparatoru ve imparatorluk otoritesini sembolize eder. Dört ana yönün merkezini temsil eder ve toprak elementiyle uyumludur. Çin halkının atası olarak kabul edilir ve bilgelik, güç, refah ve iyi şansın simgesidir.

Zenginliği simgelemek için Çin teması ve sarı/altın renk teması kullanarak bir resim yapmak istedim. Batıda ejderhalar ateş püskürtür ve yıkıcı varlıklar olarak kabul edilirken, Çin'de sarı ejderha hariç tüm ejderhalar iyiliksever varlıklar olarak kabul edilir.

Sarı ejderha, toprak elementinin, merkezin, gökyüzünün ve güneşin tanrısı ve koruyucusu olarak kabul edilir. En güçlü yaratıktır, tüm ejderhaların efendisidir ve bu nedenle yenilmezdir – onun iyiliğine bağlı olarak bol bir hasat veya kötü bir ürün, yaşam veya ölüm olacaktır.

Bu resim, imparatorluk yönetimi, zenginlik, odak noktaları, kölelik ve zaman temalarını gösteriyor. Madeni paraları saat rakamlarını göstermek için, gongu ise zamanın geçişini sembolize etmek için kullandım.

Sonunda Çin bayrağını araştırdım. Onların bayrağında da sarı yıldızların merkeze doğru baktığı görülüyor. Bu sefer yıldızları kopyaladım, hepsi merkezdeki ejderhaya doğru bakıyor. Ejderha Çin için bu kadar önemliyse, bunu resimde de yansıtmak istedim. Bu da beni "merkez" hakkında gerçekten düşünmeye sevk etti.

Düşünce sürecimi göstermek için, referans olması amacıyla iki ara aşama daha ekledim. İlk olarak, saati sembolize etmek için madeni paraları yerleştirdim; ikincisi ise bir gong ekledim, mor bir arka plan oluşturdum ve ejderhayı daha büyük ve heybetli göstermek için ölçeği ayarladım.

Umarım bu resim bir şekilde "zaman paradır" sözünü sembolize eder. Resmin soyut olmasını ve çok katmanlı anlamlar içermesini istedim. Bu resmin sembolizm ve derin anlamlarla dolu olduğunu göstermek istedim. Sanat bize kelimelerin anlatamadığını anlatır.

In my current Domestika course I am doing (Feng Shui). I recently came across an image of the Yellow Dragon. In Chinese mythology the yellow dragon is the most important and powerful being from all the mythical beasts. Each symbolizing on cardinal direction except the yellow dragon which symbolizes the center. Below are the other 4 heavenly beasts.

• Azure Dragon (Qinglong): East
• Vermilion Bird (Zhuque): South
• White Tiger (Baihu): West
• Black Tortoise (Xuanwu): North

The Yellow Dragon (Huanglong) primarily symbolizes the emperor and imperial authority. It represents the center of the four cardinal directions, aligning with the element of earth. It is considered an ancestor of the Chinese people, embodying wisdom, power, prosperity, and good fortune.

I wanted to make a painting using a Chinese theme and a yellow/gold color theme to symbolize wealth. Whereas in the west dragons breathe fire and are considered destructive beings. In China, dragons are considered benevolent beings except the yellow dragon.

The yellow dragon is considered God and Guardian of the element earth, the center, heaven and the sun. He’s the most powerful creature, master of all dragons and as such he is invincible – depending on his goodwill there will be a rich harvest or a poor crop, life or death.

This painting shows themes of imperial rule, wealth, focal points, slavery and time. I kind of used the coins to show clock numbers and a gong also to symbolize the passing of time.

I used gold foil to give it a regal look and a beautiful watercolor washed background for some interest. (Purple also symbolizes not just wealth but also the ruler too).

I change the proportions to make the dragon look bigger than the slaves putting it in the center with the coins surrounding it. I gave some shiny gold details to make the painting look special.

Then I finally researched on the Chinese flag. It too (their flag) seems that the yellow stars point to the center. I copied the stars this time all of them pointing towards the dragon in the center. If the dragon is so important to China. I wanted to portray this in the painting also. This got me really thinking about the "center".

This painting was fully done digitally on Canva.

I added two intermediate steps painting too for your reference to show my thought process. First the placing of the coins to symbolize a clock the second adding a gong, purple background and adjusting the scale to make the dragon bigger and imposing.

This would be a large painting. Like 6 feet 6 feet square painting. (Mixed media with gold leaf ect)

I hope that this painting somehow symbolizes the quote "time is money" I wanted the painting to be abstract and have multiple layers of meaning. I wanted to portray that this painting is full of symbolism and deeper meanings. Art tells us what words cannot.

I wanted to convey that everything revolves around the center and that everything itself is depended on time.

And if everything is depended upon time, imagine how expensive time could be?
