My final project

I decided to create a poster for my favourite band Arcade Fire. Arcade Fire is a Canadian indie rock band formed in 2001 in Montreal. The band is known for its grand, orchestral sound, deeply emotional lyrics, and energetic live performances. Their music blends elements of indie rock, baroque pop, and art rock, often featuring a wide range of instruments, including violins, accordions, and synthesizers. That is why I decided to create a poster featuring a concert of this band. (Source of the photo is magazine Variety. Photo was taken by Ryan Muir.)

I did quite a few sketches. In the end I did not entirely use them and I created something that is a sort of extension of original sketches. Poster is as minimalistic as possible. For final version of poster I used Adobe Illustrator. My initial hand lettering was not very good so I decided to use fonts "Chantal" and "Salted". Main focal point of poster is Arcade machine with fire displayed of screen of this machine. Using an arcade machine as the focal point directly plays on the band's name, while the fire on the display adds an element of energy and intensity - qualities that Arcade Fire’s music often embodies.
