Miguel Ángel has been dedicated to the world of urban art for years, working primarily with this technique. So much so that he has even developed a signature style in which he expertly combines hyperrealism, cubism, and an expressive use of color with the strength of graffiti—and which has been come to be known by specialists as "post-neocubism."

Miguel Ángel shows you the basic graffiti techniques along with his preferred color palette to give you some ideas when choosing your own.
Next, get your artwork down on its definitive support before moving on to color. Start with the skin and pay close attention to the eyes and their expression—an element that your teacher always puts special emphasis on.
After drawing and coloring the nose, mouth, hair, and background, add depth and detail to give your work a realistic look.
Wrap things up by sharpening the outline of the entire figure, a technique that Miguel Ángel uses to accentuate the cubist aspect of his pieces.
