Yah-Leng Yu

Yah-Leng is the Creative Director/Principal of Foreign Policy Design Group, a branding & design studio based out of the tropical island of Singapore. She is also an AGI (Alliance Graphique Internationale) member and has also co-created the official museum store Gallery & Co at the National Gallery Singapore. Yah-Leng was formally trained at the Art Institute of Boston before moving to New York City where her creative career blossomed. In 2007, she moved back to her hometown of Singapore where she co-founded Foreign Policy Design Group. Her works have been also recognized and honored by D&AD, TDC, Tokyo TDC, ADC, AIGA and various design platforms and publications. Yah-Leng is the current President of The Design Society Singapore and she had sat on the advisory board of the Temasek School of Design Singapore. She has also often been invited to speak and judge at festivals, conferences and institutions globally. Yah-Leng was named one of The Disrupters and Industry Leaders in 2017- 2020 on The Tatler 300 List by Singapore Tatler and Asia’s Most Influential for 2021.

Foreign Policy is an award-winning brand design bureau and think tank of artists, strategists, storytellers and makers. Led by Yah-Leng Yu and Arthur Chin, the bureau has won awards from The British D&AD, the Tokyo Type Directors Club, the Art Directors Club New York, the Type Directors Club, Awards360, AIGA; and has featured at Semi Permanent, INTL Assembly, DEMO Festival, and AGI Open.

These days, Foreign Policy's polymathic tendencies reveal themselves in unexpected ways – from identity-building for Singapore's first and only arts university to solving business problems with co-living projects featuring Singaporean shophouses.
