Ulisses Carvalho

In 2014 he lived in Barcelona for a year and dedicated himself to research about the materiality of sound at the Universitat de Barcelona. In this same period he participated in exhibitions presenting works of this project.
In his artworks, Carvalho uses the materials's symbolism to explore the materiality of sound, giving visuality and tatibility to the sound by way of printmaking, photography, assemblage and objects. In graphic art, he develops serigraphs from the combination of sound references signs and symbols, creating ambiguous iconographies through manual and digital graphic images.
He acted as a musician in local bands have been participated on important festivals such as Conexão (Belo Horizonte) and WOMEX 12 (Thessaloniki).
