I am passionate about writing and having now retired early most of my energy is going into developing those skills. The basis for my articles and stories will be the worlds I am beginning to create - fantasy and science fantasy. So where does sketching fit in? I want to produce my own artwork for articles and stories. I started to paint and quickly found that I really needed to get a foundation in drawing to underpin that. Initially the thought was enough to set out good compositional sketches but when I came across the course on Expressive Architecture it captured my imagination… plus one of my first main story ideas is set in a newly built city with clean architecture mixed with remaining parts of the old city with wonkier buildings full of character and history. The course seems a great fit to help me, and it seems like it will be fun to do.
As yet I do not have a project to upload as I have never drawn before, beyond the odd doodling when I wrote some short Roleplaying adventures years ago - they were scrappy and found their way to the bin a long time ago.
