Thank you Ale for a very informative course. I took my time with this course (almost six months in fact!) but I wanted to make use of all the lessons and wonderful resources. While my final project may not be a very exciting change, I feel confident that I could use the principles to tackle another project now. I began with no plants of my own, although we have some in the house, but now I really enjoy looking at, and looking after the plants under my care.
My final project was to update a living room which is part of a combined kitchen, living and dining L-shaped room. It's used for a variety of functions, - relaxing, reading, and talking with friends and family. Currently the room is rather dull, lacking in colour and interest.
Here is my 'before' image:
The area is used for a variety of functions - sitting and relaxing, watching TV, and for grandkids to play.
My aim was to introduce a bit of colour and update the room without spending too much. I wanted to re-purpose any old plant pots and furniture that we had around the house. Here is my inspiration image:

I purchased 4 medium sized plants for the living area - Ficus Ali for one corner, monstera, a fiddle-leaf plant and a calathea. I wanted one really big plant but they are very expensive here. I'll have to wait for them to grow!
In the area above the kitchen bench I put up two small picture shelves, where I can put small plants.
I recovered an old Ikea chair, which took a long time to do, but it saved me spending a lot of money on a new chair. In addition to plants, I purchased cushions and a throw and a small side table.
I removed the TV set - we were only watching evening news - and we hardly miss it!
