Nicola Hawley

Hi, my name's Nicola Howell Hawley, and I've been working as an illustrator for the last three years, specialising in maps and nature imagery, and refining my style after working in book editing and teaching. I get lots of inspiration from many different sources, including modern illustrators such as Katie Scott, Helen Cann, Jessica Roux and Aaron Becker, as well as the Studio Ghibli films, books and nature. I work in both analogue and digital techniques, which combine in a fresh style that blends vintage and contemporary elements, often with tiny details. Finally reaching a place where I am happy with my style, I am looking to expand my business and learn more types of art to inform my current practice. I have also started a new business for the fine art side of my work at nicolahowellhawley.art.
