My name is Nayeli, I started to play with the clay two years ago during the first pandemic look down. My neighbor is a pottery artist, she gave me a piece of clay to keep busy my mind. Honestly, I did not have any idea what to do with that, I left it on my table for a couple of days, one day I took a small piece and I made a couple of cats, my boyfriend gave me a wheel and I tried to make pots, almost impossible in the beginning but I didn’t want to waste clay and every bad pot I made I transformed in a funny pottery planter with animal shape.
In my town, every summer we have an arts market, last summer my neighbor invited me to participate, I was nervous, but I took the challenge, and I was very surprised that I sold all my pieces even that ones I didn't like it. This year I want to try again. I like to make funny animals and gnomes, I am focusing on pottery planters and bird feeders, which keep me different from the other pottery artists, everyone around here makes traditional pottery, plates, glass, mugs, etc., different colors and little different designs but the same and for me that is bored. I like to create characters, which sounds very interesting to me about your course.
