Marlene Lee

I paint mainly in oils, from still life to plein air painting to pet portraits commission. I also am with a group of urban sketchers in Davis, California. I had always enjoyed sketching in markers since I was a teenager. I still have those sketches of a record player, the meat counter where I worked in my family store and the cases of Coke Cola that was stored in the backroom. I learned how to understand perspective very well.

Recently I came across the Fude fountain pen. I'm intrigued with its ability to create thick and thin lines just by the way I hold the pen. I want to commit myself to everyday drawing to get more familiar with this pen. I believe this course will provide me the incentive and the motivation to move forward in this self-project.
