Pier Larsen

My name is Pier. I’m a social studies educator, daughter and mother of artists. I’ve always wanted to follow in their footsteps, but nothing about drawing comes easily to me. A year ago my daughter and I started sending hand-drawn or painted postcards to one another weekly-just to hold myself accountable for drawing once a week. Even though I was sure my dad spent way too much time dragging us to museums and cathedrals when I was young, soaking in the creativity of others is so energizing. I knit, sew, quilt, bake, and used to carve, and I can figure out how to make almost anything, I just don’t have many original ideas—coming up with a subject is challenging, and actually liking the way something turns out is cause for celebration!
