Katy Hick

Hi, I came to live in France after many years working as an Art teacher in Asia, Africa and Europe. My artistic enquiry and experimentation with materials and processes can take a long time so I am hoping that the advanced paper engineering in this course will speed up the process. I grew up surrounded by books, my earliest artistic influences were illustrated books, especially Pop-up books. In 2010 I studied for a Masters degree in Creative writing and shortly after, I was introduced to the craft of book binding and book arts by friends in Brunei. In my new work, I plan to combine my interests and experience in new projects which will include Pop up techniques.
