Kami Goertz is a fibre-based character designer and sculpture artist exploring natures form and variety using vintage, reclaimed and high-quality materials. Kami studied Environmental Science and worked in the culinary industry for over 10 years, which has heavily influenced her art practice. The forms and shapes found in nature and food are the main inspirations for her character-based work which is expressed in hand and machine sewn soft sculptures with vivid personalities.
Kami’s fibre art pieces have been exhibited across Canada, the United States and in Germany, and reside in many personal collections across the globe.
The goal of Kami’s art is to inspire a remembrance of youngness, play, curiosity, and discovery while highlighting the living characters in our common environment.
