Kathleen Hill

Textiles and the Fibre Arts have always had a strong pull on me. As an artist I have explored felting, mixed-media, costume making, indigo dying and stitching. I love to apply traditional textile techniques to non-traditional materials whether that be natural found materials or the fascinatingly resilient qualities of discarded packaging.
The intrinsic value of the cloth that makes our clothes has moved to the forefront of my attention lately and I have been reveling in stitched repair. I am delighted to find this course and am eager to increase my stitching vocabulary as I strive to massively reduce my consumption of new retail clothing and keep my cosy favourites going forever.
