June Cluett

A Wiltshire Based Fine Artist, Poet and Writer,
I was born and grew up in South Africa where the marvellous landscape and rock formations influenced my decision to become a sculptor. Later, after marriage, I left SA and lived for a time in Singapore where scuba diving brought me in contact with life forms under the sea. This had a huge impact on my work as an artist, as does aerial landscape. When expat life in Singapore, Sweden, Hong Kong and Boston, with many stints in London, came to an end - we moved onto the sea in a sailing boat for 12 years. Living the dream I wrote, painted and drew from the many inspirations of the roving life aboard. I have exhibited, sold and been commissioned in South Africa, England, Singapore, Sweden, America and Turkey. We now live in the beautiful Wylye Valley, near Salisbury in England, where I ran a Portrait Group consisting of enthusiasts coming from all over Wiltshire. We met every Monday morning for four years before Covid Struck. I have read my poetry out loud to Poetika in Salisbury and various poetry groups in London. I am part of a writing group 'Five Artist Writers', in America, who have published a book of writings, poetry, art and photography. My project is to collate, add to and illustrate my sailing journals in order to publish them.
