John Santilli

My name is John Santilli and I have been a photo-enthusiast ever since I was a kid, many years ago. I am from Livonia Michigan (USA), which is just outside of Detroit & I retired from Ford Motor Company last year. It’s difficult to narrow down my influences to 2 people… My first influence was father as he gave me his old Voigtlander camera when I showed an interest in photography. I took the camera apart to see how it works thinking I would be able to put it back together. I basically ruined my father’s camera, but he understood & allowed me to save money, purchase a new camera, and continue with my passion. My second influence is LIFE magazine & all its great photographers, especially Andreas Feininger. His portrait of Dennis Stock along with his dramatic cityscapes are special to me.
