Kaja Kajfež

My name is Kaja and I'm the creator behind the name Iz Ptica, who loves to tell stories through the visual medium. As a freelance digital illustrator, my professional work focuses mainly on children's books, while my personal projects tend to be an expression of her love towards nature, an exploration of both character and emotion. Also, I am a small shop owner for whom, leading this creative life is a dream come true.

To give you a bit of background - upon finishing 'Multimedia, Design and Application' study at University North in 2017, I established my own little studio that mainly focuses on children's book illustration, lettering, surface pattern design, and design of visual content. As a freelance illustrator, I have had the opportunity to collaborate on various projects in a number of different fields with both small and independent as well as medium to large publishing houses. My client list includes Hallmark, Macmillan Children's Publishing Group, DK, Oxford University Press, Barrington Stoke, Pearson plc among others. I am represented by Advocate Art illustration agency.

While not working, I love to take long walks in nature, explore different historical periods, scroll through old books, listen to online concerts, spend time with my dog and relax with a huge cup of tea.
