A very informative course showing the use of watercolour techniques by a professional artist, which are explained in a non patronising and engaging way. I learned a great deal and will be able to put the techniques into practice.

I enjoyed watching the colours that Richard would use for shadows and the use of the knife for texture. His water and rocks are incredible, and I will practice that over and over again. The whole painting is perfect. His ability to talk while painting is brilliant. I expect both sides of his brain are working. Thank you.

This has been a wonderful course to learn new skills and techniques about landscapes. It has helped with finalising the final drawing and placing this onto the paper as well as working on techniques to help create textures that add to the final pictures. Great course to take, thank you Richard!

I have thoroughly enjoyed this course and it has taught me a lot about the techniques needed for landscape watercolour. I would recommend it to anyone wishing to improve their watercolour painting. For me it has particularly helped me look at a scene and work out where to start on the painting and it has allowed me to take that step to do my own original work. Many thanks Richard. This is such an informative and interesting course - Richard brings a seriousness and gravitas which shows his love of the medium. His teaching of the tonal values - a sketch beforehand - was an eye opener for me. I would thoroughly recommend this course.
