Manuel Bartual is a scriptwriter, cartoonist, and editor. He began by creating his own comics, but for some time now he has also been telling stories through film, television, novels, podcasts, and social networks. He experiments with the narrative possibilities offered by each medium, as he demonstrated with the fictional tale he narrated in a Twitter thread during the summer of 2017 that went viral.

He has directed a dozen short films and a feature film (Todos tus secretos, CANAL+ award for best film at the 18th Málaga Film Festival), illustrated for publications such as El Jueves and Orgullo y Satisfacción, and created designs for El País[]/i, [i]Santillana, Astiberri, Dibbuks, Es Pop, and more. Together with Alba Diethelm, he also directs the humor comics magazine ¡Caramba!. His latest work includes the novel El otro Manuel (Planeta, 2018), the reality show #ElGranSecuestro (for RTVE's Playz, in 2019), and Biotopía, a science fiction series podcast (2020).
