PERSONAL STATEMENT
Hey there! You can call me Rosie. I’m an embroidery artist from Taiwan. Fashion is such a wasteful industry. Although I love it very much and respect the fact that people cherish beautiful things, I’ve always been thinking about what I could do to reduce waste and how I could help to spread the concept of sustainable fashion. I’ve dedicated myself to making waste into beautiful artworks these years. I tried to recruit waste on the internet from strangers and did some experiences. I embroidered with metal scraps, making them into garments and wall decorations. I reused plastic bags, ironed them, and made new patterns on fabric. The more I do, the more I know where my head’s at. I expect myself not to use any purchased materials, but things that existed and no one would use anymore. The world had enough waste already and I have no intention to be a part of it.
