Anna Lombardo

Anna Lombardo (b. 1993) is a multidisciplinary artist born in Erice. She holds a degree in Environmental Arts and Experimental Languages in Palermo Fine Arts Academy, where she graduated with a photografic thesis about Wabi Sabi, a japanese estetic philosophy. While she studied in the academy, she joined in the communication’s stage with PUSH in the social project Rambla Papireto in
Danisinni, Palermo. There she worked with numerous contemporary artists and graphic designers who allowed her to progress at a professional level. Furthermore she assisted Sicilian artist Gabriella Ciancimino in her exhibition In liberty we trust which was part of Manifesta 12 biennale. In this project she performed walldrawing art. The same year she took part in the Collective exhibition Locus Solus with her landscape photographic work Shurhùq.

During her Erasmus period at the Universitat Politecnica in Valencia she improved her photographic skills as well as organizing exhibitions and working in an artistic collective. There she took courses in Audio, Video and Graphic Design.

Photography for Anna is a journey, rather than an idea. When thinking about photography the following things comes in her mind like visions: Bresson, cats, weeds, feather hats, theaters and tragedies. Her story with photography took her from the Egyptian jewelry taken at the museum with her first analgic Canon, through the explorations of home geographies and the dusty images of the Wabi-Sabi, the subject of her degree thesis.

In this moment, Anna is living and working in Granada, she’s currently doing a master in Photography.
