BTTF Title Sequence

Hi, my favorite childhood movie was Back to the Future, so I created more of a homage than a traditional title sequence. It was a very nice process, from the initial idea and storyboarding to designing the style frames, and finally animating everything in After Effects. I wanted to work with old photos from the 1950s, imagining someone in the present day discovering them and looking through them one by one. I aimed to bring some movement and animation into the pictures to make them come alive.



First a made a rough sketch and storyboard. I found the pictures online. Did some illustrations work in Adobe Illustrator and next the Style Frames in Photoshop. I think the idea developed more and more along the way. Last I dit the animation and motion design in After Effects. Some 2,5D and just 2D because of the old pictures.
