Gerardo es el propietario de un conocido restaurante en Madrid. Pilar acaba de aventurarse en un nuevo negocio abriendo una panadería. Su hijo Guillermo acaba de terminar la carrera musical de percusión y quiere realizar un máster en el extranjero. Los tres vivían juntos en un amplio piso de más de 150 metros cuadrados en Madrid pero ahora que Guillermo saldrá a estudiar fuera deciden reformar un pequeño apartamento de unos 70 metros cuadrados que tienen en propiedad. Las ciudades van a necesitar cada día más soluciones de viviendas compactas, que consuman menos recursos y aprovechen al máximo el cada día más preciado espacio.

El cambio de vivienda es para Pilar y Gerardo una alternativa consciente.

¿Cómo pasar de 150 a 70 metros cuadrados sin renunciar al lujo del espacio?

El apartamento está situado en una bajo planta baja y tiene una configuración longitudinal, con uno solo de sus lados cortos con iluminación natural. Aunque es un piso fundamentalmente para vivir en pareja, necesitan dos habitaciones para las idas y venidas de Guillermo y poder acoger a futuros visitantes. De esta manera todo el apartamento se configura a través de un gran mueble amplificado, el lugar donde cada cosa está en su lugar. Así es como las camas, la mesa de comedor, las sillas, los escritorios se convierten también en objetos domésticos que se almacenan, apareciendo y desapareciendo al antojo de Pilar y Gerardo. De esta manera, a través de dos muebles giratorios, que trabajan como las únicas paredes del apartamento, a excepción de los que separan los baños del resto de la vivienda, se configuran las distintas posiciones de la vivienda. El apartamento puede ser una vivienda tradicional con dos dormitorios, un pisito de pareja soltera con un dormitorio en relación fluida con el resto de la casa o un espacio de más de 50 metros cuadrados para las fiestas necesarias de la intensa vida social de Pilar y Gerardo.

En la EIP House cada objeto de la familia tiene un lugar y una manera de ser almacenado y desplegado. Los muros giran de manera horizontal para crear la intimidad necesaria en los dormitorios. Las camas giran y se despliegan en vertical al igual que los escritorios, que al poder almacenar el ordenador, el ipad, algún libro e incluso bolígrafos en su interior permite que aparezcan y desaparezcan dejando en stand by lo que se estaba ocurriendo sobre ellos. La mesa de comedor gira sobre si misma si necesitan desayunar o comer dos o tres personas y se despliega hasta convertirse en una gran mesa para una cena de hasta ocho personas. Toda la vivienda esconde objetos susceptibles de ser desplegados para utilizarse. La televisión se esconde y se extiende para poder verse desde varias posiciones de la vivienda, la plancha se almacena en un cajón y hay varios espejos que aparecen y desaparecen con un simple click.

En la vivienda de Pilar y Gerardo cada metro cuadrado es oro, cada cosa está en su lugar.

Gerardo is the owner of a well-known restaurant in Madrid. Pilar has just ventured into a new business by opening a bakery. Her son Guillermo has just finished his musical percussion career and wants to do a master's degree abroad. The apartment is located on a low ground floor and has a longitudinal configuration, with only one of its short sides with natural lighting. Although it is a house primarily to live as a couple, they need two rooms for the comings and goings of Guillermo and to host future visitors. In this way the whole apartment is configured through a large amplified piece of furniture, the place where everything is in its place. This is how the beds, the dining table, the chairs or the desks also become domestic objects that are stored, appearing and disappearing at the whim of Pilar and Gerardo. Through two rotating furniture, which work as the only walls of the apartment, with the exception of those that separate the bathrooms from the rest of the house, the different positions of the home are configured. The apartment can be a traditional house with two bedrooms, a small apartment for a single couple with a bedroom in fluid relation with the rest of the house or a space of more than 50 square meters for the necessary parties of the intense social life of Pilar and Gerardo .

In the EIP House each object of the family has a place and a way to be stored and deployed. The walls rotate horizontally to create the necessary intimacy in the bedrooms. The beds rotate and unfold vertically as do the desks, which can store the computer, the iPad, a book and even pens inside allow them to appear and disappear leaving standby what was happening on them. The dining table turns on itself if they need breakfast for two or three people and it unfolds until it becomes a large table for a dinner of up to eight people. The whole house hides objects susceptible to be deployed to be used. The TV hides and extends to be able to be seen from several positions of the house, the iron is stored in a drawer and there are several mirrors that appear and disappear with a simple click.
