Although I've dabbled in art off and on my entire life, it wasn't until I retired that I began to pursue skills seriously, and consistently. First it was all about graphite because I had little to no training in color theory. Then when I set out to learn how to use color, I became a colored pencil artist. I chose the medium mainly because I didn't have the space for much else. But as life is a constant state of change, so did my little studio area and I was able to begin painting and dove into acrylic I'd been bitten by the plein aur bug , but discovered that acrylics was far too challenging as a portable medium. I decided to find a more portable solution to my travel art needs - watercolor. Since then, I've discovered sketchbooks to be that "thing" that no matter what, I always have one at hand. They have become more than a place to develop works of art. They've become my art.
