Terri Murakami

My four grandchildren call me "Baba", a shortened and cute version of "Obaasan" (Japanese word for Grandmother). My aunt taught me to knit when I was about 12 years old, making a sweater as my first project. It turned out remarkably well, but I put down the needles for other things. About seven years ago, I picked them up again to make baby things for my first grandchild, which were used by her younger sister and cousins as years have gone by. About four years ago I was influenced by ChiWei designer at One Dog Woof and Stephanie at All About Ami. I crocheted and knitted their designs, especially loving the creatures and dolls they designed. Recently, I found myself in "Needles & Hooks" yarn shop at Lake Forest Park, Washington, where I was introduced to Claire Garland. I am filling my time watching her posts and videos and knitting her wonderful creatures. It makes me feel content.
