Rachel Steeples

I’m Rachel ..I’m 49 recently single but with two beautiful cats and currently run a independent ladies boutique, selling luxury designer and couture preloved fashion and accessories, in Oakham I did an art foundation at what was then Notts polytechnic then completed a BA hons degree in fashion studies at derby university , in my early 20’s .
I used to draw a lot then but haven’t really been doing very much since then and lost touch with it. After lots of stress and loss in my life I thought it may help get back in touch with myself so decided to do this little course to inspire me again.
I love fashion and creativity but running the business mostly alone it can be easy to slip into the grind of keeping on top of the biz and shop and earning money, looking after customers ,background work, accounts etc and can lose sight of the creativity side and concentrating on the things you love .
Other hobbies are yoga, sometimes reading, interest in health and well being and horse riding . I don’t have my own horse now but I used to so take out one locally to me on a weekly basis. I used to compete when I had my horse including side saddle. I have done some travel in the past but would like to do more ..

I love nature and animals and I love this light hearted, energetic and playful style in this course and I like water colour etc too. I’m hoping this will start to get me back into more art and creativity and light up my soul again. Obviously i hope it will improve my skills too.
