Neotraditional Tattoo Design (My Project for this Course)

Been only learning how to tattoo for a month now. This course was so helpful in breaking down the elements of designing a neotraditional piece as this is the kind of style I am drawn to at the moment.

As for the designing process, it was a lot tougher than I expected. I started by roughing the drawing on paper, following the teacher's process. Everything was explained clearly, including what elements to watch out for when picking references. It was a big help.

After I was satisfied with the initial choices, I moved everything into Procreate. I haven't been drawing digitally for a hot minute so this was a bit of an adjustment for me. It was a lot of back and forth, deciding on which details to add and what to remove until I came up with something I was kind of happy with.

After finishing this design though, I realized I should probably simplify it so it's "more tattooable" as some of the components seem too fiddly and the lines not crisp enough to put into stencil. 😅

Anyway, I'm planning to have another go at this project and see what I come up with. 😁

Regardless, this was good practice and I hope to improve more. Thank you so much to the teacher, Monique! This course was awesome. 🤩
