Pamela Keller

I grew up in Glen Ellyn, IL and graduated from the American Academy of Art in Chicago with a degree in Graphic Arts and Design. I started my art career as Art Director then became Sr. Art Director for a marketing company and small ad agency. I started teaching art in 2001 at the Wheaton Park District, later at the DuPage Art League and the College of DuPage—in the Chicago area. I am in my 15th year of teaching art at C.O.D. and have had 2 years teaching classes at UW Madison. My father was a brilliant artist and I followed in his footsteps and that is where I find happiness. I still learn from his paintings. I teach a sketching class and like to use watercolor on toned tan or toned grey sketch paper. I have over 15 sketchbooks that are filled that I started in 2020. For the holidays I gift my students with "how to sketch in 12-minute" videos. Painting or drawing nearly every day is one of my goals. I have been pretty consistent with that. I have a husband, 2 grown daughters, a son-in-law and 2 small grandsons. My artwork is signed with my maiden name "Cather" to carry on 4 generations of artists in my family.
