Nina Bru

My art education at L’Escola Massana in Barcelona has helped me develop a firm foundation in the arts. After graduating I opened my Art gallery and it became my perfect playground. There I started creating. Constantly investigating and searching for new expressive formulas. This translated into works of Art that followed a clear direction. My research into and use of graphic elements and plastic solutions resulted in my language. Where colour and shape elegantly balanced. The figures within the works are reminiscent of “organisms” leaving an impactful impression of colours on the retina of the viewer.

I have participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions and have had the pleasure to coordinate various art events in Spain, Thailand, and India. These experiences have taken my interest and love for art to a whole new level. I have always had a deep passion for colour and shape. As well as garments of each ethnic group including urban tribes. These topics interest me profoundly because they’re linked to the culture, religion, and climate of each country. Which inspired me to create new designs and pieces of art.

For the past eight years, up to today, I have been working directly with companies designing custom-made concepts for them. These experiences have been amazing, as my responsibilities include painting, designing, creating concepts, and sourcing products for major projects. Based on the idea of the customer, together we have developed beautiful concepts and created successful products for retail. Varying from storytelling boards to food packaging or coffee porcelain.

As an artist new surfaces, new materials, new solutions, and new techniques make my heartbeat go faster.
