I always loved drawing. I started taking oil painting clases when I was 8. Fell in love with drawing at highshool and decided to study architecture (arts and crafts was not an option by that time for me). Went to drawing clases before starting university and started using charcoal, pastels, acrilic paint... Drawing buildings and human bodies was great. Then went through a crisis as I had to produce drawings, and I was dry (nothing came out of my imagination). Some years later restarted drawing with my right side of the brain and I learned portraits with pencil. It was fun and went back to art as a hobbie after some time in other affairs. Started playing with it and loosening a bit some years ago, and that has led to watercolours lately as a way of letting go of control, allowing creativity and fun rule, exploring new media and learning something new.
I have never seen myself as a profesional artist, as it has always been a hobbie or a media for something else, but lately I´m starting to feel it as a passion itself, and sold my first painting ever a few days ago! You can see some of my works at Instagram (@retratoconalma). I´m really happy with the chance of exploring, learning and playing with all of you! Thanks.
