I am Leslie and I write. I've been writing for as long as I've known how. To write is to think. I don't like to talk as much as I like to listen and write. I find listeners get bored when you're trying to think of the right word. I always carry a pen and paper notebook to capture interesting things I see and hear. I am a Master Gardener and a Master Naturalist, partly to listen to the languages of nature, partly to help save a dying planet. My current favorite book is, "Braiding Sweetgrass" by Robin Wall Kimmerer.
A few titles that have influenced me, "Why I Write" by George Orwell, "On Writing" by Stephen King, "The Philosophy of Composition" Essay by Edgar Allen Poe, "The Diary of Anaïs Nin" by Anaïs Nin, "The Bell Jar," by Sylvia Plath, "Lit" by Mary Karr, "Angles Ashes" by Frank McCort, "Charlottes Web" by E.B. White, "The Seven Storey Mountain" by Thomas Merton, "The Wounded Healer" by Henri Nouwen, "Mere Christianity" by C.S. Lewis, "The Cost of Discipleship" by Dietrich Bonhoeffer.
