Karen Shih
Karen’s background is in Development Studies. She worked in government, international and domestic non-profit organizations, and academia in the field of environmental management and policy, Catholic social communications, and Church heritage management.
Her personal project documenting food and foodways in her province is a consequence of having grown up in a community where food is prepared and eaten mindfully, conscious of the traditions passed down through generations. It is also influenced by her work in environmental management, where documentation plays an important part in decision-making.
Karen currently works on church heritage conservation and writes about Capampangan daily and seasonal cuisine.
