My textiles journey started with cross stitch as a hobby, then I became a tester for Leisure Arts and soon was employed there full time. I have a couple of degrees that have nothing to do with art or textiles but that included a lot of writing and editing. The past few years have seen my hobbies change from dressmaking, crocheting amigirumi and cross stitch to knitting, patchwork and embroidery. I also like drawing, watercolor painting and colored pencils but am strickly a novice when it comes to art. My current interest is in finding a way to mix the media I enjoy most: drawing, watercolor painting and embroidery to create semi-realistic and beautiful feeling textiles.
