Gail Kantor

Born into a fairly religious Brooklyn home in 1948, well before the advent of the women's lib movement, I deviated from my parents deeply learned expectations at the ripe old age of 19. Ever since quitting Brooklyn College in 1967 I've spent my life, in some form or another, in the music business, whether as a singer, songwriter, producer, animated feature film music supervisor, or technology CEO. Though now retired from those fifty-six years of variously fruitful ventures, I thought it would be fulfilling to retrace some of my experiences in a memoir focused on the convergence of my musical heart and the less enticing but necessary world of entrepreneurism. Hopefully the stories I recount will inspire and inform other creative people who plan to or have already embarked on a similarly uncertain and challenging path.
